We have two type of search option for item in EMP.

1) Old Item Search

- This is the default search option. 
- In this case Item Code and Package Code are searched separately.
- Multi level UOM is supported in the search.

2) New Item Search

- This search is configured from Control Panel - > System Admin - > EMP Configuration - > Trading - > New Item Search (Enable)
- Multi level UOM is not supported in the search.
- Item Code and Package Code are searched from the same place.
