Welcome to BigLedger Knowledge Center!

4.0 Records Scanning

This screen is seen when the user clicks on one of the sessions in the “My Sessions” screen. At the top of the screen is the session name that was clicked on. There are two tab sections on this screen: the “Scan” tab and the “Records” tab. The “Scan” tab is where all the stock recording and item scanning takes place, while the “Records” tab shows all the records created by the unique stock take device for the session.

4.2 Scan Tab

The user can choose from three different scanning types in the scan settings, accessible through the settings icon in the top right of the title bar. The user can also choose to validate serial numbers during the stock take recording. Serial numbers are validated by default.

Users can manually type the item code or EAN code and click the search button on the keypad to check and look up the item.

Additionally, users can scan the item code directly by clicking the scan icon on the left, which opens a camera scanner view. This eliminates the need for manual input. If the scanned code is valid, the corresponding item will be found.

In the search text field, a search button on the right opens a screen listing the items in the tenant. Users can select an item from this list and filter by item code or item name.

Once an item is selected using one of the available options, the user can fill in the remaining details for the stock record and click the “Add” button to create a record, which can then be viewed in the “Records” tab.

Figure 3. Basic Item Scan

This feature allows basic item scanning. For serialized items, the user must add a serial number to create a record. The quantity automatically increments as more serial numbers are scanned. It allows scanning multiple serial numbers at once, eliminating the need to repeatedly scan the same item code.

4.2.2 Auto Scan

This feature allows users to scan a non-serialized item’s item code or EAN code, automatically creating a record with a default quantity of 1. It is not applicable for serialized items. Users can manually scan and click the search button or use the camera scanner.

4.2.3 Serial Number Scan

This feature allows scanning a serial number directly to create a record for the corresponding inventory item and serial number. Users can manually scan and click the search button or use the camera scanner.
