For users who just started adopting EMP for the first time, there is a need to transfer all your customer information to EMP. That is when Importing Customer Records should be done prior to initiation.
An example of an Excel (.xls) template is provided below for you to download. However, after entering the details, please remember to save and convert the xls. file into .csv format before uploading to EMP. Otherwise, the EMP will not recognize a .xls file when uploaded.
- Customer > Maintenance > Upload Customer List
- Click on 'Browse' to search the .csv file in your computer.
- Then, click 'Submit'. If an error has occurred in the uploaded file, an error message will be displayed.
For Open Office users:
There are a few important things that users have to take note of.
- When saving the file, select csv file type.
- Tick the check box for Edit filter settings, then click 'Save'.
- In the Field options box, enter "|" for the Field delimiter and leave the Text delimiter field blank. Click 'OK'.
- These configurations are important. Users may encounter error when uploading customer records if the configuration are not done as shown.
New upload customer
- it will overwrite the existing customer account.
- For information needed to upload just put in as a header. It different with existing function, as for this the header is keep and we no need arrange the information according to column. It just follow the header
